Upcoming…

Today we are going out to Shawn’s to get the final copy of the album. Other events on the agenda:

• Getting the sound files from Shawn to upload onto the MySpace.
• Creating a new MySpace layout to make it look cooler.
• Obtaining the artwork so we can start working on a CD ideas.

I’m not sure if we’ll get the artwork today, but it’s one of the few things we have left to do. Also I have worked up a new page for the blog that will have the lyrics to all of the album’s songs. It’s ready to go, but there are two song names we have to finalize before I actually publish that.

Mix, artwork.

All four members of the band have finally heard the mix, and in agreement of it’s complete awesomeness. However, we’ve also discussed a few things that could be different and so one more test mix is needed. If that’s all it takes, then we will soon have a finished album.

Also, we have asked one of the artists from Your Mom’s Tattoo Attelier to come up with album artwork. Apparently he is almost finished, and we’re all excited to see what he’s done.

Bass!

I started recording bass and finished all but two songs, “Headhunter” and “The Vulture’s Eye.” Shawn is unable to record us tomorrow, so we will go back on Sunday and finish those two tracks. Bryan, the The Fifth Sun’s vocalist, is coming to town on Monday and with his help we will get vocals done sometime within the week.

Bass so far has been fun, and I know I’ll be glad to get some hints from a professional metal vocalist.

Keyboards.

This weekend Trent gets to experiment and record his keyboard parts. I think he has a pretty good idea about what he’ll be recording as far as the keyboard solos, but then he work on more of the background stuff.

Next weekend I’ll start recording bass and hopefully vocals.

Tonight’s update.

We were in the studio tonight working on rhythm guitar tracks, and DJ finished tracks with distortion for five of the songs. Tomorrow he and Trent are going in at 11 to try and wrap things up. DJ has to do two more distortion tracks before Trent can start, and once Trentski finishes that both of them have to record clean guitar tracks for all 7 songs. It doesn’t look like we will get to bass at all this weekend, unfortunately.

I’m currently working on pictures for the member biography section. I’ll get the pictures up today, and I will have the actual bios posted by the end of the week.

Basement gig, 2/21/09

The band played a small gig in a friend’s basement last Saturday, and now that I have all the videos and pictures uploaded I can now share the details.

Pfazar opened, and they played well as usual. We played next, and despite a few technical difficulties and some minor mistakes, we also played pretty well. Unfortunately, the crowd was small and not that enthusiastic. Most of the kids just kinda stood around looking kind of bored and watched us play, probably unsure what to make of our 5-minutes-or-longer epic songs.

We did get some compliments, however. The guitarist and bassist from Pfazar. both congratulated us on an excellent set, along with the bassist and guitarist from In Pursuit of Tomorrow both remarked on how much they hated having to play after us.
